Based on a real-life story, Mulk revolves around the struggles of a Muslim joint family from a small town in India, who fight to reclaim their honor after a member of their family takes to terrorism.

Murad Ali with his joint family lives in a densely populated area of Varanasi. His daily chores include a tea from the 'Chaurasi Tea Stall' and a long chat session with his Hindu friends. His son is settled in London and his 'Hindu' daughter-in-law Aati is visiting them for some reason. Thier life turns upside down when his nephew is found guilty of for a bomb blast that killed many innocent lives. What happens next is the main story. Will he be able to cleanse the blame that his brother Bilal is equally guilty for they produced a terrorist?

Overall Movie Review :

Before entering the cinema halls, be ready to be challenged with the question of who is 'hum' and who is 'woh'? Aren't we meant to be 'us'? At the time when Indian Muslims are equally treated like a terrorist for any terrorist act, Anubhav Sinha is with his 'Mulk' trying to challenge the misguided belief that 'all the Muslims are terrorists'

Anubhav Sinha who until now has been busy making fluff-stuff movies like Ra.One and Dus, has joined the wagon of making social movies and made this political-masterpiece which attempts to humanize a community that has been demonized by some negative elements in the society. And it would be safe to say that Mulk doesn't take sides, doesn't make the Indian Muslim community a portrait of injured innocence.

Mulk right from the beginning holds an interesting plot thanks to Anubhav Sinha who spend time developing and capturing the culturally and communally harmonious Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb, Where a Hindu is seen starting their day with a sound of azaan and a vegetarian Chaubey can eat kebabs on the sly at his Muslim neighbor’s home. The cinematographer has proved through his camera the everyday chaos and harmony residing in any community. The strength in the Hindu-Muslim relation is shown so harmoniously that at one point you could guess that this is what is going to be the toll in the chapter. And that is what happens. A small spark of jingoistic nationalism and all amity down.

The plot of the movie takes the actual pace when Shahid Mohammed, son of Bilal Mohammad was proven guilty of a bomb blast that killed many innocent lives but he refuses to surrender to the police. This incident was enough for the Mohammed family's life to turn upside down. Shahid’s father, Bilaal Mohammed (Manoj Pahwa) is taken into police custody under suspicion of being involved in terrorist activities. All the neighbors and distant family relation turns foe thus leaving Murad Ali with no option but to defend his brother and prove that they are equally loyal and honest as any Hindu in the country.

Mulk is heavily used to throw light on how people fall prey to political agendas that intend to divide the country on the basis of ‘us’ vs ‘them’. Through the dialogue-driven movie,it is said  again and again repeatedly that 'terrorism has no particular religion.' 

Rishi Kapoor, as a patriarch in the role of Murad Ali, looks absolutely brilliant. For a moment you would not be able to differentiate that in real life he is a non-muslim. The pain in him for his family is visible throughout the movie. It wouldn't be wrong to say that Rishi Kapoor in his second inning is getting better day by day.

While Rishi Kapoor was a treat to eyes in his character, Bilal's character, played by Manoj Pahwa is no behind. He is equally amiable. Pahwa as the terror-accused father of a jihadi will make your heart melt with compassion and gullibility.

Also brilliant is the ever-capable Kumud Mishra as the judge presiding over a case that in many ways, changes the way we look at terror-accused families, not to mention court proceedings in our films.

Tapsee Pannu is another actor who through her courtroom scenes proves her steel. Although she delivers the best-written dialogues she at a time fails short, delivering monologues. Ashutosh Rana as a prosecutor is the best in himself. He knows exactly how and when and where a word or phase in a dialogue needs the attention while delivering it.

Prateik Babbar and Rajat Kapoor had some small screen shares but they do their work honestly and leaves no spot complaint.

Indeed being a seasoned actor, usp scenes were mostly given to either between Pahwa and Kapoor or to Pannu and Rana.

Talking about the music, it was the weakest part of the movie being having only a 'kawali' that interested us. Although we felt it was never a need. The screenplay was commendable which looked great accompanied by the good dialogue deliveries. Background score in the courtroom was another plus point. 

The fight in conscious, between 'them' and 'hum', went well.

Final Spill Verdict :
Overall, 'Mulk'  is a struggle of a Muslim-family, who wants to challenge the misguided belief that 'all the Muslims are terrorists'
The final question ' Is it the 'hum' vs 'woh' that we wanted to see? Does it worth a watch?'

• Yes, not only because it's a perfect entertainer but because at one point or other we all have made some different meaning of religion and reiterated it with extreme-patriotism rather jingoism.  
• Somewhat no, only if you are one who doesn't love to watch an eye-opening movie or is not a part of a human community. Because we, the human always have some kind of pre-build belief and one such is that Muslims are terrorist.

Should I watch? 
There is be no particular reason why you should not watch this movie. With the great performance of Rishi Kapoor and other star casts, it's a cherry on the cake. Go watch it for whatever reason. We at least loved it.

Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, played by Diljit Dosanjh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. The film’s tagline is “The Greatest Comeback Story of the Hockey Legend Sandeep Singh”. Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008. India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics. 

Hanuman vs Mahiravana (3D Hindi) :Treat for kid?

The quest to rescue princess Sita is coming to an end as Rama and his army of monkeys make their final push for victory against the demon king Ravana of Lanka. In the ensuing battle, Rama defeats and disarms Ravana but magnanimously spares his life. That night, Ravana unleashes his most powerful ally; his brother Mahiravana, a dark and powerful sorcerer who rules over the Underworld.

Mahiravana's shadow casts a blanket of deception over Rama's army and the unseen enemy captures Rama and Lakshmana. Mahiravana intends to kill the two princes at daybreak to fulfill a prophecy that will make him invincible. Can Rama's friend Hanuman save them before it is too late?


Review:
The movie is based on any other folktale where one the day of victory lord Rama refuses to kill Ravana since he was rendered defenseless. Rama says that the war will be continuing the next day. ravana seeing a fast chance and asks his sorcerer brother Mahiravana for the rescue. Mahiravana tricks Hanuman who is guarding the cave that houses Rama and Lakshmana for the night and kidnaps them. This is how Hanuman embarks on a journey to kill Mahiravana and rescue the two. 

The movie seems opening with great promises like great VFX and 3D and untold story of Ramayana which at once seemed to attract a lot of viewers especially the younger ones but your hopes and wanting will go in drudge as the movie fails to serve what it should have served. Definitely, you cannot expect the flexibility level of Hollywood animation movies or compare and this gets worsen had you watched the recent release Incredibles 2. The story-line seems though somewhat promising the effects are nothing but flat. Screenplay in some instances felt amateurish.Still,Hanuman vs Mahiravana is a complete family entertainer movie, it's fun to watch Hanuman for the first time in 3D. Songs felt neutral to me. Neither a delight nor bad.

Though the voice over is something that should be commended and applauded.

kshi-Verdict:
West has set a mark in animation that is hard to touch in Bollywood now. That is the reason when it comes to animation movie we always have a lot of expectation but is never delivered. Anyway expecting that level of animation and story-line or character sketch would be an act of foolery from this movie.
So the final remains: Was the movie Treat for kid?

• First thing to consider is that you should not enter the theater expecting a high end 3D movie, we are still developing in that areas.
• And as far goes for kid(and adult too), they would love their super powerful friend Hanuman this time in a role of savior. A entertaining movie at the end.

Should I watch? 
Though it didn't disappoint me (as it is high time we support this type of movie) it was neither a movie I loved to watch. You should definitely give a try. One time at least. 

                                             

Review of SANJU : Is it the biopic you wanted to see?

Movie Sanju serves the dramatic biopic of the controversial life of actor Sanjay Dutt: his film career, jail sentence, and personal life. The movie mainly portrays the ups-and-downs of the relationship with his father!

Storyline:
'One man, many lives' is the perfect words that define the heart of the movie. Like any other movies by Rajkumar Hirani, this movie too gives a vivid and dramatic look to this biopic. The movie starts off with Sanjay Dutt(played by Ranbir Kapoor) preparing to surrender himself regarding the Supreme Court’s verdict of 1993 Bombay blasts after which Sanjay and Maanayata(Dia Mirza) seek the help of an autobiographer Winnie Diaz played by Anushka Sharma.
The movie then takes you to the flashback when Sanjay Dutt was to debut in Bollywood through his movie Rocky. It was also the time when her mother Nargis(played by Manisha Koirala) was fighting with her Pancreatic Cancer and just before the release of Rocky her mother dies to leave Sanju in a pathetic dismantled condition. Here comes  Zubin Mistry, a drug peddler, played by Jim Sarbh, who introduces him to the drug. Gradually Sanjay feels confident in drugs and gets addicted but later on, he is also the one to suffer thus trying to quit it but all went to vain. He was taken to rehab in America by his loving father Sunil Dutt (Paresh Rawal), where he meets  Kamle aka Kamlesh (played by Vicky Kaushal) and instantly becomes the fast friend. They are seen hoping and moping over pubs and sexual talks.
Sanju is seen escaping the Rehab only to return fit and fine after a year and a half. 
The next half of the movie all about his connection to the Underworld, his jail sentence and his suffering in the Yerawada Jail, Pune. How is fights over all this, how his family is affected and all?

Acting :

Coming to acting part each and every person in the movie has given their best be in a big or short screen time. Although the movie is basically is shared between the three characters only-Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Dutt and Kamlesh.

No doubt Ranbir has nailed the Role. The way Sanjay Dutt talks, the way he walks, the way he laughs each and every minute details are taken care of by Ranbir. And the voice that Ranbir has mimicked has left us with no comments. Just hats off to the acting department.

Another actor who has left a mark on the big screen is Vicky Kaushal. He is a fantastic actor-Hands down.

Music:
Music with 'Kar Har Maidan Fateh' sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Shreya Ghoshal and penned down by Shekhar Astitwa is one such gripping and inspiring song that was somehow digestible but not the other ones. Although other songs were pretty well too it feels like forced upon your ears and not necessary.
Background score deserves a applause though.

Direction:
Direction should never be questioned when the movie is directed by Rajkumar Hirani Saheb. He's the best in the department and although it is his first time in a biopic category he did a justice to the movie in direction department.
Yet it can be believed according to me that it was his weakest movie until now.
He is a master storyteller we should never forget that.

Final spill Verdict:
As a layman I really liked the movie be it from any perspective. This 160-minute movie delivers all the emotion that is required in the movie and overall proves a great entertainment movie if we keep the facts aside. 

Although the movie at first promised us to show all the true colors of the Sanjay Dutt's shady life, somewhere near after the interval you'll definitely get to feel that its a propaganda(maybe, not a perfect word) by Hirani sir to show Sanju innocent. After watching the movie you will be definitely left with a tint of doubt that whether the movie is made only from a single person's view. I felt it lacked the research regarding the complete authenticity of the events.

The final question ' Is it the biopic you wanted to see?'

• Yes if you wanted a masala entertainment biopic and you are either a  Sanjay Dutt or Ranbir fan. 
• Somewhat no because after all this toil if an audience is left with a movie which somewhat seems biased and made only from a single person's perspective it might hurt some audience. Although it's not a matter of discussion anymore.

Should I watch? 
Go watch the movie if you are a Ranbir or Baba fan; you'll love it. Definitely a one-time watch movie.

What is Hard Work? Will it pay me? Is it enough to be successful?

As a kid, I was told that “Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds.”

I was not sure what that actually meant but started to do what others were doing- the hard work!
They would tell me the stories of people who by their hard work re-spawn the course of time. They were Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Edison, Walt Disney. You know there is always a long list of people who can inspire kids by their stories of hard work. But as I am grown up now, I thought to invest research on their what you say their “hard work”.

Bill Gates:

Hi, I am Bill Gates. You know me right? Yes, you do. You call me lucky, you call me Hard working. I was both but a mixture of more; The smart work!
When IBM wanted a software that could run on their Personal Computer and give them a user-friendly look, I saw a future for my drowning company Microsoft. My luck was with me, particularly when an office assistant, which they mistook me, was able to impress them and get the contract in hands. Everything seemed good but the problem was that I haven’t developed any BASIC operating system that could run in IBM’s. I had handled this before and was sure to get it done this time too.
Here comes the Smart work I did. You will always have a hurdle and even a way to get out of that hurdle but may lack a source. Finding that source is important. I found. I bought an operating system that was designed to run on computers similar to IBM’s. I bought the licensing and complete ownership under my name and Microsoft, obviously without telling them about the IBM’s deal. I was sued later but the matter was settled.
I did some hard work and was able to make the OS run on IBM. I felt successful but this didn’t help me. IBM wanted me to sell my source code to them instead I proposed a deal. I was paid only the licensing fee for whatever number the PC’s with Microsoft OS was sold.
Smart work was not re-selling source code to IBM but charging the only licensing fee. How? This allowed me to license MS-DOS to any other PC manufacturer and not just IBM.
By 1983, Microsoft had their OS running in 30% of the market!

Henry Ford:

Do I need an introduction? You visualize me whenever you hear the idiom “rags to riches”. Isn’t? Probably you are riding a Ford while reading this or may have just seen passing a Ford passing by you just now.
I story began when I joined Detroit Edison Company in 1890. Within a short span, I was promoted to chief engineer. See hard work definitely pays.
Within a more couple of year, I was able to construct a model car, the Ford Quadricycle and lighting genius Edison appreciated my work saying to build a better model.
Time flew fast. I hold a patent for a carburetor. Left Edison to pursue my car-making business full-time.
Over the year I failed more than succeeding. Every time I felt everything is going good, I had to face some trouble. My company dissolved and I reformed it. Twice and succeeded. Thus you know me!
You ask: “You didn’t seem to enjoy hard work?”
I did smart work too. Who at that era thought that a car can be a mode of common transport for lower class people too? I created for everyone.
What makes me so successful is that I took my business idea and made it bigger. Had I stayed with my original small factory, I wouldn’t be the business icon that you know today. Every time I wanted to improve my company, I invested in a much larger factory to produce more products. Most of the entrepreneur fear to invest. They don’t have a future view. I had. Sometimes it was correct. Sometimes wrong. But I improved.

Edison:

Probably you are sitting under a bulb and that is what I am also known for. Yes, peep give me a limca book of record for failing the most. I failed over 10,000 times to invent a commercially the viable electric light bulb.
Most people still know me for my business tactic as well.
As you know I was not born smart or talented. I was neither treated well. My teachers had no faith in my early age and I was often deemed "difficult" by my teacher. My habit of reading helped me. I was neither born lucky- so had to rely completely on hard work. I saved a kid while working for a railroad. His father offered me to teach Telegraph. I could have asked for money but is money more worth than knowledge?
By 15 I had enough knowledge to work as a telegrapher. I experimented then and learned.
Time passed by and with the hard work I felt I was reaching my aim. My mother was ill and Father out of work. I needed to do something. I joined Western Union and developed an electronic voting recorder for quickly tallying votes in the legislature but no one seemed interested.
I needed to work luck for me. In 1869 I invented a Universal Stock Printer which impressed Gold and Stock Telegraph Company. They paid me $40,000 for the rights. Now I can work full time as an Inventor. There was no looking back.

Hard work definitely pays but smart work is equally important after all have you ever seen a worker, mason, barber getting richer? Don't we measure the level of success by money and popularity? That barber may get money when working hard but cannot get popularity until he is Javed Habib who did his work equally smartly rather intelligently.

What is one thing that Indian parents can never understand?

You, my dear, your potential !

You remember this scene. Right?

If you are an Indian child in their teens belonging to an average earning family, you already know what I mean.

No doubt parents are always great, be it India’s or any of any country. Parents are parents. They love you, and they want better for you. They sacrifice their chapati so that you can be full; they sacrifice their new clothes so that you can be updated with the trend; they use a low-end phone but will gift your smart-phone so that you can be at ease; they will sacrifice their blanket so that you can feel the warmth.

If you're an Indian and don’t have a functional money status; you belong to an average class family, thus you probably already know what sacrifices your parent make just to flesh you up. Their only dream they have is that they don’t want you in the same position as they are in!

Yes, it is this point where they don't understand you.

Why do you think our country is producing the most significant number of engineers?

Because everyone’s favorite subject is Science or because they want to serve their country by doing this?

Hush!

Never!

By the time you grow up and gain some conscience, you know your parents are working hard to get you settled for better future by educating you in best possible school they could afford. After 10th, if you score well in academics, you are already an engineer for your parent. They see a future in you. Maybe they will never say this to you, but they want you to be. You know, every son(WHY ONLY SON?DAUGHTERS TOO) get to understand this at one point. You are pressurised by your parent’s hope to take up science . They want you to be like the one in your neighbour who once scored 350 in JEE and is now doing a job in some good firm. They heard that IITians are sure to get a secure job. They think the ones who do good in academics are successful. They want you to be like other but never gets to understand that not all the five fingers are equal.

Your parent never understand your dream.

If you are brought up in middle class family you know how important is government job too.

Yes, Indian parents do say “go do whatever you want to do”; but how many times had you seen a parent coming and saying to you “why don’t you go to some good art school, you draw well”, or “if you want to be a writer, I am with you”, or “sure, you want to do gymnastics go for it”. No one will ever say this to you.

If you are good at math, you are born CA or if you understand physics and chemistry well- go! IIT is waiting for you !

Why don’t we ever hear that “a farmers son sold his masterpiece drawing for the worth of millions”? Why this headline?- “farmers son cleared UPSC with top rank.” Why don’t we ever hear “Rickshaw wallah’s son wrote a novel that went to be the Best-seller and won Booker prize”? but “Rickshaw wallah’s son bagged all India ‘X’th rank in JEE”?

I had this one friend in the village. He was taught in Bihar’s(my hometown) topmost school. He was good in arts and crafts. He could sing and perform well too. In the introduction session of class XII when a teacher asked if they enjoy taking up science, he was the only one to say “no, I wanted commerce. I regret science.”

After about a year when I visited his parent, I got to know that he wanted to join an art school. Although he was good in science, paints fascinated him more. But he belonged to a low-income family. He was taught in a school whose monthly fees was half his dad’s income and his parent struggled each day to achieve his schooling. When I asked why they didn’t let him join the art school, they were “There is no income there .Besides what will he do, sit near Taj and draw couples? I don’t want him to struggle as I do, besides he is good in studies…….there is nothing in drawing and sketching.”

Yes, the scene now a day is changing(maybe) - now when you want to be a dancer, your parent don't object. If you're going to be a journalist, they still consider your thought.

I never meant parent don’t try to understand their child. Actually, they try their best ,but in the process somewhere they kill their child dream of being someone other than engineer and doctor.
